Award-Winning Graphic Novelist Nathan Hale will visit NBPS MS on Monday, September 23rd!
Nathan Hale’s The Hazardous Tales series brings history to life, graphically showcasing major events and individuals in history, primarily United States history. Hale’s combination of historical fact, a witty dose of imagination and captivating graphics combine to make Hale’s Hazardous Tales irresistible to students, and quite unique in the world of children’s literature. School Library Journal praises Nathan Hale’s work as “lively, rigorously researched, visually engaging stories,” and the series has earned myriad honors over the years, including four Eisner nominations and a stint on the NYTimes Best-Seller list for every book in the series.
During the school day on Monday, September 23rd, your child will experience Mr. Hale speaking and drawing live at a special grade-specific assembly in the Learning Commons, have the opportunity to ask questions, and interact with this highly regarded graphic novelist. Mr. Hale will sign books after each presentation.
Book Signings and Purchases for Middle School Grades 6-8:
To prepare for Mr. Hale’s visit, students in grades 6-8 were asked to read at least one Hazardous Tale as part of their Summer Reading. Make sure your children have their books with them to be signed during his visit. All 7 of the Hazardous Tales titles will be available for purchase in the Learning Commons on the day of the event for $15 each (cash, check or credit card...not school credit).
We look forward to this special event as we kick off a wonderful year of learning!
